Gt program

Today was a good day.  We have made changes to my pump settings and I am running closer to my "normal" range.....(whatever normal is!!)  Anyway, my teacher nominated me for the GT program today.  I think it is pretty exciting and my mom is thrilled.

I have had some challenges with my pod lately on my stomach.  Twice now it has bruised me and gave us a false alarm on a bacterial infection.  We are off the stomach for a while---but honestly it is my favorite place for my pod.  It hurts the least there. (well until lately) I hope it heals quickly because now I have to use my arms and I hate placing the pod of my arms.

I can't wait until Omnipod comes out with a smaller version of the pod.

We went swimming this weekend and again I had to change out a day early because the tape was lifting. But I love swimming!!

That's all for now.  My DS is calling me.

Here I am once again to share my thoughts with all you diabetic kids/adults. I don't like having diabetes but there are advantages....I get to have snacks in class.....I get to leave PE early (if I am feeling bad) so I try to make the best of it.

Today I had an "off" day.  I was feeling bad this morning...My numbers were close to 400---so I felt shaky and jittery.  I also felt like I was going to faint and I was really hungry (even though it was a false hunger)  It's hard to concentrate when you feel like this.....and on friday I took a test and was 342.  I didn't do as well as I had hoped.

I know we all have these days...and I hope tomorrow will be better!
Hope you had a great weekend!

August 30,2009

Hi welcome to my first post . I am a diabetic and I decided to start a blog about diabeties. I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was 2 1/2 . I feel good about it even though I have to take insilin for everything I eat.  I still feel good about having diabetes because I don't let it limit what I can do.  I have had some great expierences because of my diabetes.  I had a Nascar racecar race in the Brickyard 400 with my name on it.  I have met a Congressman who has listened to my story.....just to name a few.

I want you to know that you are not alone out there.  I am here to share my story and my expierences to help you laugh, cry and just be able to talk about it.  I hope you find it helpful!
